Louisville Redshirt freshman Kyle Bolin came off the bench for an injured Reggie Bonnafon, and threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns, as 22nd ranked Louisville outscored Kentucky 44-40.

The game went back and forth all afternoon but it was not until Brandon Radcliff ran for a 4 yard touchdown with 2:47 left that the Cards got the lead for good, and it was not until Gerod Holliman picked off Patrick Towles 4th down desperation heave that the win was secure. Holliman’s 14th interception of the season ties the NCAA record for most picks in one year.

With the win, Louisville improves to 9-3 overall. The Cards have won three games in a row, and four straight times in the Governor’s Cup. Kentucky finishes the year on a 6 game slide to end up 5-7 and out of Bowl game contention.

For Louisville Devante Parker caught 6 passes for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the UK side, Patrick Towles wound up 14 of 29 for 176 yards and 2 interceptions. Boom Williams ran for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cardinals will now wait to see who they will play and in what bowl game.
