LEXINGTON — With over five months still to go before National Signing Day in February, four-star Paintsville Linebacker Kash Daniel has continued to receive attention from top collegiate programs despite verbally committing to the Kentucky’s 2016 class earlier this summer.
But the Army All-American put an end to the attention last night when he publicly reaffirmed his UK commitment and closed his recruitment:
- “First off I want to thank every school that has recruited me before and after my commitment,” Daniel wrote in a message posted to his Twitter account. “Being a kid from Eastern Kentucky it’s truly a blessing to be given the opportunity to play at the highest level. With that being said I am now officially closing my recruitment.”
- “I made a great decision with my life when committing to the University of Kentucky. I firmly believe in Coach Stoops and his staff in what they’re doing with the program. I’m surrounded by the greatest fans in the world and I’m with a group of guys that have the same goal as I do. Can’t wait to get to work in January.”
Daniel, the No. 3 prospect from the state of Kentucky for 2016 according to Rivals.com, committed to Mark Stoops and the Wildcats in July over other offers from South Carolina, Louisville, and Purdue among others.
Justin Rowland of Rivals.com joined KSTV on Thursday to discuss Daniel’s reaffirmation to Kentucky as well as the status of UK’s other top targets:
