05/21/2018 06:10 PM

Former Kentucky quarterback Freddie Maggard (1988-91) has joined Mark Stoops’ support staff with the UK Football team.

Maggard had spent time in the media, as a part of the UK Football pregame show, and on “Monday Morning Quarterback” with the voice of the Wildcats Tom Leach, a writer and even a few appearances on Spectrum News. He will serve as the Director of Player Development for the football team.

It will include character development, community work, helping players find internships and future employers.

Maggard did similar work with the Kentucky National Guard.

KSTV talked with Maggard as he settles in at his new position.
