UK FOOTBALL | Baker Out for "Significant Time"

08/21/2017 04:09 PM

UK senior wide receiver Dorian Baker suffered a fracture-dislocation in his left ankle during Saturday’s scrimmage.

As a result, head coach Mark Stoops has announced that Baker will miss significant time, and possibly the entire 2017 season.

“We’re very disappointed for Dorian, as he had a good offseason and was helping lead our receivers during preseason camp,” said Stoops. “However, we are hopeful for a full recovery and look forward to his eventual return to the field.”

Baker has started in 23 of 32 games during the last three seasons with Kentucky. Last year, he caught 14 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns.

Should Baker miss the entire 2017 season, he could return in 2018, as he has a redshirt year still available.

Baker is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday.

Watch Lachlan McLean, Bradley McKee and Clayton Abernathy discuss what Baker’s loss means to this Kentucky team.
