The quest for a sixth win and bowl eligibility will have to wait for another week after the UK football team fell flat in Columbia, Missouri, losing to the Missouri Tigers 20-10.
The final score wasn’t indicative of how soundly UK was handled throughout the game as the offense failed to generate any sort of momentum, converting only 2 of 16 third down opportunities and finishing the game with a 2.8 yards per carry average.
Quarterback Patrick Towles, who was under pressure most of the day, completed 19 of his 36 passes for 158 yards, along with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Freshman Mikel Horton carried the ball 10 times for 62 yards, while Boom Williams added 39 yards rushing and 58 yards receiving.
The Cats are now 5-4 on the season and 2-4 in SEC play.
