UK beats Ohio, 20-3, to move to 2-0

In just the second week of the 2014 season, the UK football team has matched its 2013 total. The Cats moved to 2-0 Saturday with a 20-3 win over the Ohio Bobcats at Commonwealth Stadium.
UK raced out to an early 14-0 lead in the first 7 minutes of the game thanks to an 8-yard touchdown reception by freshman Dorian Baker and a 53-yard run by freshman running back Stanley “Boom” Williams. An Austin MacGinnis field goal would make it 17-0 at the half as UK entered the break with a first half shutout for the second-straight week.
In the second half, the offensive game plan appeared to be far more conservative as quarterback Patrick Towles became the focal point of the offense, which focused on running out the clock and pounding things out on the ground. Towles finished the game with 59 yards on 22 carries, to go with 170 yards through the air.
