UK BASKETBALL | Wildcats Win SEC Tournament

03/11/2018 03:46 PM

The Kentucky Wildcats did it again.

The No. 4-seeded Wildcats (24-10, 10-8) beat No. 2-seeded Tennessee (25-8, 13-5) on Sunday afternoon to claim their fourth straight SEC Tournament championship.

The win gives UK an automatic berth in this year’s NCAA Division I Tournament, although the Wildcats were almost certainly guaranteed to be in the field regardless of the outcome Sunday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for UK with a game-high 29 points. He also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Sunday’s win was the first time the Wildcats have beaten Tennessee this season, as the Volunteers won their two previous regular season meetings.

Kentucky will learn its NCAA Tournament first round opponent and location Sunday evening during the annual NCAA Selection Show.
