UK BASKETBALL | Kevin Knox Named SEC Freshman of Week

01/29/2018 03:51 PM

Kentucky forward Kevin Knox was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday, thanks to his impressive performances last week.

The honor is the first of Knox’s UK career.

Knox averaged a team-high 26.5 points per game last week.

He scored 19 points in Kentucky’s win over Mississippi St. Tuesday.

Knox followed that up with a game-high and 34 points in Kentucky’s win over No. 7 West Virginia Saturday. In fact, he is the first UK player to score 30 or more points in a game this season.

The Wildcats (16-5, 5-3) are back at it on Tuesday when they host Vanderbilt (8-13, 2-6) at 9 p.m. ET inside Rupp Arena.
