LEXINGTON — Don’t call him a Blue Devil quite yet.
Despite popular opinion claiming Harry Giles — the No. 1 player in the 2016 class — is a lock to commit to Duke, the 5-star power forward has confirmed he will take an official visit to Lexington to attend Big Blue Madness on October 16 and still has Kentucky on his short list of schools.
“Kentucky’s certainly in there,” Evan Daniels, Scout.com’s director of basketball recruiting, told KSTV on Thursday. “Duke is probably the school to beat at this stage, but I think Kentucky is certainly within striking distance, and the fact that they have him coming in for Big Blue Madness is a feather in their cap.”
The Wildcats are one of five teams the North Carolina native plans to visit, along with Kansas and hometown schools Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest.
Sacha Killeya-Jones — Kentucky’s latest commitment for 2016 — recently announced he’ll also be taking an official visit to UK during Big Blue Madness. The 4-star power forward is good friends with Giles and even received a congratulatory tweet from the nation’s top player after committing to the Wildcats:
I will be taking my official Visit to UK on October 16th for Big Blue Madness‼️ #BBN— SKJ‼️ (@The_SKJ) August 26, 2015

Are the odds changing to be in favor for the Wildcats? Who knows. Big Blue Nation just needs to show Giles what he’ll be missing when Madness erupts in October.
