If there is one thing we know for certain with these young Wildcats it is nothing is certain. UK, coming off arguably there most impressive (2nd half) performance of the season in their win against West Virginia last Saturday, looked completely disinterested for much of the game against Vanderbilt Tuesday night.

Cold shooting led to a deficit that fluctuated between 6-10 points for much of the first half and into the second half. At one point in the second half Vandy pushed their lead to 14 points before UK decided it would give the Commodores a game.

A quick run cut that 14 point deficit to just 3 points before Vanderbilt pushed it back out to nine. From there it was a see saw battle until the very end when Riley LaChance did the unthinkable. He missed the front end of a one and one that could have possibly put the final nail in the Wildcat coffin. LaChance had not missed a free throw since he missed three straight against this Kentucky team in Nashville a few weeks ago. That miss kept the lead at 3 points and set the stage for Shai Gilgeous Alexander to ultimately send the game to OT with 2 made free throws.

Once OT started UK found their second wind battling the Commodores to the very end before Quade Green split two defenders and drove to the basket for the winning layup.
Vanderbilt was able to get a shot off but it glanced off the rim as time expired.
Kentucky (17-5, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) grabbed their second come from behind victory in as many games to move into a tie for second place in the SEC with Florida who lost tonight at Georgia. Auburn sits atop the SEC at 8-1.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander scored a career high 30 points for Kentucky while Kevin Knox chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Quade Green came off the bench with 12 points including the game winner.

Kentucky will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to Missouri to take on the Tigers. Game time is 2:00pm et
