UK BASEBALL | Pair of Wildcats Named Preseason All-Americans

Kentucky baseball players Sean Hjelle and Tristan Pompey have each been recognized as First-Team Preseason All-Americans by College Baseball and Perfect Game, respectively.

Pitcher Sean Hjelle was named a First-Team Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball and a Third-Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game. Last season, Hjelle was the SEC Pitcher of the Year after going 11-4 with a 3.89 ERA. He struck out 102 batters in the process.

Outfielder Tristan Pompey was named a First-Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game and a Third-Team Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball. Last season, Pompey hit .361 with 18 doubles, 10 home runs and 45 RBI.

Kentucky opens up the regular season on Feb. 16 at Wofford.
