UK baseball completes the season sweep of UofL

With a 4-2 win, the UK baseball team completed a season sweep over the in-state rival Louisville Cardinals.

The Cats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Micheal Thomas scored on a throwing error by the Cards’ center fielder.

UK added two more unearned runs in the top of the fourth. A.J. Reed crossed home on a throwing error by the UofL second baseman. Ka’ai Tom made it 3-2 as he advanced home when Javon Shelby was walked with the bases loaded.

The Cats fourth and final run was scored by Marcus Carson in the top of the ninth. The win gives UK a 24-13 record on the season, and they’ll return to action Friday when they travel to Texas A&M to begin a series with the Aggies.
