The Bat Cats took 2 of 3 from top ranked Florida over the weekend including a thrilling walk-off win Sunday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

UK lost the opener on Friday night as the Gators clubbed their way to a 12-5 win. UK notched a victory on Saturday setting up Sunday’s rubber game, which Kentucky won 5-4.

UK sophomore first basemen Evan White had two hits in the game to extend his hitting streak to 16 but the biggest hit of the day came from shortstop Riley Mahan whose solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning tied the game. Mahan had committed two errors in the top of the 10th that allowed Florida to take a two run lead.

Freshman Sean Hjelle, seeing his first action in the SEC, pitched the tenth for his first victory of the season. The 6’11 righty was charged with 1 run while striking out 2.

The Wildcats take the field Tuesday night as they host NKU. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30p eastern.
