The 9th ranked Kentucky Wildcats spotted Louisville a 7-0 lead, before making the Cards squirm a bit. UK almost fought all the way back, scoring 6 straight, to make it 7-6 UofL going to the ninth.

But Louisville was able to add a pair of insurance runs, and then after Evan White led off the bottom of the 9th with a double, Cards closer Zack Burdi struck out the final three, as Louisville defeated Kentucky 9-6.

Louisville starter Kade McClure pitched six inning to pick up his 7th straight victory without a loss. Burdi grabs his 4th save, while Zach Logue gets the loss to see his record fall to 1-1.

Louisville never trailed, and improves to 26-7. The Cards will host Clemson for three straight Friday thru Sunday. UK falls to 22-10, and will next hit the road for three straight at Vanderbilt.
