Tyler Ulis Commits To Kentucky Basketball

This evening, Chicago point guard Tyler Ulis committed to Kentucky at Marion Catholic’s football game. The four-star recruit chose UK over Michigan State and Iowa.

“Kentucky is a top college basketball program right now,” Ulis said. “It will help me, working hard every day playing against the top competition. Coach Cal does a good job developing players.”

Ulis becomes the second commit to UK’s 2014 recruiting class, joining big man Karl Towns.

Ulis is the eighth ranked point guard in the 2014 class and the 38th overall player. Although considered small at 5’9”, he impressed at the Nike Peach Jam by going toe-to-toe with the number-one-ranked point guard Tyus Jones. Watch Ulis’s Peach Jam highlights here.

A couple weeks ago, KSTV’s Thomas Beisner spoke to Ulis about his recruitment and what he thought of Kentucky. You can watch that full interview here and tune in on Monday to see KSTV recap his decision and where he fits in with Kentucky in the future.
