NEW YORK CITY — In just under an hour, ping pong balls will decide the winner of the NBA Draft Lottery and the rights to select this year’s top player.

Right now, that player appears to be Karl-Anthony Towns, and with a little luck, he could end up playing for his hometown team.

DraftExpress.com currently projects UK’s freshman All-American to be the No. 1 pick in the draft, just ahead of Duke’s Jahlil Okafor.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have the best shot at winning the lottery tonight at 25%.

Right behind them are the New York Knicks.

Towns, of course, grew up across from the Big Apple in New Jersey and has said several times that the Knicks were his childhood team.

New York owns just under a 20% chance of winning the lottery, and Karl-Anthony told the New York Post yesterday that if the ping pong balls bounce his way, it would be an honor and a dream come true to play for his hometown team in The Garden.

KSTV discussed the odds of Towns playing for the Knickerbockers and why it would be a good fit for his future pro career.
