PORTLAND, ORE. — Team USA might as well be renamed “Team Kentucky” for next year’s Nike Hoops Summit.
Three UK commits have been selected to represent the Team USA Junior National Select Team and the annual competition between top American and international players: Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, De’Aaron Fox, and Wenyen Gabriel.
Team USA will square off against the World Select Team on April 9 at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore., in a competition between the top high school seniors in the country and some of the world’s best international prospects.
Fox (No. 4), Gabriel (No. 10), and Adebayo (No. 15) are all five-star recruits committed to Kentucky’s 2016 recruiting class and rank among the top players in the nation, according to Scout.com.
In total, 13 players were selected by Team USA, and Kentucky was the only school to have three of its commits added to the roster.
Here’s the complete USA team:
*Duke recruit Harry Giles will not participate in the event while rehabbing a knee injury.
Former Kentucky stars and No. 1 overall NBA Draft picks Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, and John Wall are all alumni of the Nike Hoops Summit. Current Cats Isaiah Brisoce, Skal Labissiere, Jamal Murray, and Tai Wynyard all played in the event last year.
