The growth of Willie Cauley-Stein, both as a player and a person

Many of the big names from last year’s Final Four matchup between Kentucky and Wisconsin will duke it out again this Saturday in Indianapolis in a national semifinal rematch.
But there will be one big difference out on the floor this time around — a 7-foot-sized difference to be exact — and it’s name is Willie Cauley-Stein.
Willie sat out the final four games of the NCAA Tournament last year with an ankle injury, missing UK’s thrilling 74-73 triumph over the Badgers in the final Four and eventual loss to the University of Connecticut in the championship, and the junior forward surprised a lot of people when he announced he’d forgo the NBA Draft to instead return to school for the 2015 season.
During the Final Four media session on Thursday, Kentucky head coach John Calipari said Cauley-Stein wanted to return for two reasons: (1) to get back to the Final Four and national championship with his teammates, and (2) he’s starting to enjoy school.
Tomorrow night, Willie will finally get to experience what his teammates enjoyed last season. And Hopefully, with him playing alongside them, the Wildcats will accomplish what they just missed last season — a national championship.
