Tennessee Beats Kentucky Again, 61-59

John Calipari didn’t get the full 40 minutes of basketball he was hoping for from his young team and, worse, the Cats again proved to have too little, too late as they fell to Tennessee for the second time this season.

The first half was one of the roughest 20 minutes of basketball you’ll ever see, with Kentucky going a full 15 minutes without a two-point field goal and Tennessee also struggling to put the ball in the hoop. A push by both teams in the final minutes sent the game into the break with Tennessee leading, 27-26.

In the second half, Kentucky continued to struggle and the Cats were not able to make the plays down the stretch. Freshman Quade Green came off the bench to lead the team with 15 points to go with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (15) and Kevin Knox (10) also scored in double digits for the Cats.
