LEXINGTON — Pull the curtains aside and take a peek.

The University of Kentucky took local media on a behind-the-scenes tour of what it calls “The New Commonwealth Stadium” on Wednesday afternoon, and KSTV captured it all on tape.

Wildcats have called the CWS home since 1973, and after last season, the university undertook a $120 million renovation to bring the venue into the 21st century.

It’s billed as the most expensive redesign in school history and includes a stunning synthetic playing surface; new midfield logo and checkerboard end zones; renovated press boxes, club seats, bathrooms, lights, and stadium exterior; and a highly publicized recruiting room and patio overlooking the east end zone.

KSTV carried along a camera to capture the new Commonwealth bells and whistles. Click below to check it all out.
