Sydney McLaughlin named Gatorade National Female Athlete of the Year

Incoming Kentucky track and field freshman Sydney McLaughlin has been named the Gatorade National Female Athlete of the Year for the second straight year. She becomes the first repeat winner of the prestigious award.

McLaughlin is one of the most decorated high school track and field athletes ever. She owns multiple national and world records in various track events. She participated in the 400-meter-hurdles at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

McLaughlin is expected to be on campus later this month.
