Surgery or not, Matthew Laurance says Julius Randle's draft status should be fine

When news surfaced of a potential post-draft foot surgery for Julius Randle, many wondered whether it would cause him to slip on the June 26 NBA Draft.

Randle and his mother have since denied that there is any issue with his health. Regardless, ESPN 1300’s Matthew Laurance says Julius’ game should speak for itself and he shouldn’t fall on draft day.

UK’s other draftee, James Young, has seen his stock slip a little the past couple weeks. Laurance says the 6-foot-7 lefty could be a steal two to three years down the road if he does indeed slide.

John Calipari will not be joining his two former players in the NBA ranks after turning down a reported offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers and signing an extension with UK. The talks about heading to the pros seemingly come and go every year, but this could finally put them to rest for good.
