Strong second half keys Wildcats to win over Providence

11/30/2014 04:50 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns and Willie Cauley-Stein both had 11 points and 6 rebounds as top ranked Kentucky pulled away from Providence 58-38. The game was close at the half; perhaps too close for the comfort of the 23-thousand in attendance. UK led just 26-22 at the break as the Frars controlled much of the first half action. However UK opened things up in the second half with an 18-7 run, and Providence never got the deficit under double digits during the final 10 minutes.

With the win, Kentucky improves to a perfect 7-0 while the Friars fall to 6-1. The Wildcats have a few days off to rest and recover. UK’s next game is Friday at 7pm, as the Cats host Texas as part of the SEC/Big 12 challenge.
