Four-star 2017 point guard Shai Alexander has committed to Kentucky, per his twitter account.

Alexander chose the Wildcats over Texas, UNLV, Syracuse and Florida. He was originally committed to Florida, but decided to re-open his recruitment over the summer. That’s when John Calipari noticed Alexander and began showing interest in him.

The Ontario native was recently offered a scholarship by John Calipari and has really impressed the Wildcat coaching staff as of late.

Scout.com’s Evan Daniels spoke with KSTV about what Alexander will bring to Kentucky.

“Shai gives Kentucky a point guard with terrific size and length,” said Daniels. “He’s quick, aggressive and tough to keep out of the lane. He’s a tremendous passer and set up man.”

Alexander becomes the third commit in Kentucky’s 2017 class. Five-star big men Nick Richards and PJ Washington committed to Kentucky last Thursday.
