SEC Tournament Preview: Kentucky set to face Georgia at 1 pm ET

03/09/2017 06:57 PM

Kentucky will take on Georgia for the third time this season today at 1pm ET in the SEC quarterfinals. The Bulldogs beat Tennessee 59-57 this afternoon to advance.

While the Cats have come away victorious in both prior meetings, Georgia has given the Wildcats all they can handle. It took a 37-point performance from Malik Monk for the Cats to squeak by the Dawgs 90-81 on January 31. The next meeting, Kentucky hung on to win 82-77 in Athens despite Georgia guard J.J. Frazier scoring 36 points. Frazier is averaging 18.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season.

Georgia big man Yante Maten returned to action today after missing the last four games with a knee injury he suffered against Kentucky on February 18. He’s averaging 18.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. If the Bulldogs want to come away with a win tomorrow, they will need big performances from Frazier and Maten.

TJ Beisner and Bradley McKee take a look at how Kentucky can slow down Frazier and Maten.
