Willie Cauley-Stein Talks About Returning To UK, Competitive Practices

Practices next year will be more competitive than some games, what with six (maybe seven) McDonald’s All-Americans joining up with Derek Willis, Dominique Hawkins, and the three returning players from this year’s squad. All of the incoming class talk about this as a strength, a chance to play against the best day in, day out. Now, the returning players are getting in the discussion.
Sophomore forward Alex Poythress said, “It will be the best in the country. It’s just going to push everybody hard every day from the top player to the bottom player. Everybody is going to get pushed in practice.” Willie Cauley-Stein added that next year is an opportunity for him to better himself as a player during practice.
Cauley-Stein also said the wide variety of draft projections turned him off from declaring for the NBA. The Kentucky forward was worried about landing with the wrong professional team. He also wasn’t fazed by the incoming talent.
