Recapping Kentucky's 85-69 win over South Carolina

01/23/2017 07:45 PM

Kentucky improved to 7-0 in SEC play after beating South Carolina 85-69 on Saturday. It was a physical game that saw UK’s floor general, De’Aaron Fox, leave midway through the first half with an ankle injury. Fox’s absence forced other players to step up for Kentucky and they did just that.

Malik Monk led the way with 27 points. Seniors Dominique Hawkins and Derek Willis both had great games. Hawkins had five points and a team-high seven assists, while Willis had 12 points and a team high seven rebounds.

Overall, it was a good win over the now 23rd ranked Gamecocks. What can the Cats take away from this win as they now get ready to face Tennessee tomorrow? Mark Krebs and TJ Beisner discuss.
