Poythress, Johnson named D-League All-Stars

Former Kentucky basketball players Alex Poythress and Dakari Johnson have been named D-League All-Stars.
Poythress is in his rookie season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the Indiana Pacers system and will play for the East team. Johnson, who plays for the Oklahoma City Blue in the Thunder organization, will play for the West.
Poythress is making the most of his opportunity to prove himself. He’s averaging 18.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Johnson’s stats are nearly identical to Poythress’. The former UK big man is averaging 18. 4 and 8.2 rebounds per game this season. This is Johnson’s second year with the Oklahoma City Blue. Last season he averaged 12.3 points and 8.1 rebounds as a rookie.
The D-League All-Star game will take place on Saturday, February 18 at 2:30 pm in New Orleans.
