PJ Washington commits to Kentucky

Five-star power forward PJ Washington joined Nick Richards today as the second player to join John Calipari’s 2017 class.

Washington just announced his decision on ESPNU and chose the Wildcats over North Carolina and UNLV. He is the number one power forward in scout.com’s 2017 rankings and is ranked number 14 overall in the class.

Evan Daniels spoke with KSTV about what Washington will bring to Kentucky next year.

“Kentucky is getting a guy in PJ Washington that is so versatile, especially on the offensive end,” said Daniels. “I think he can score the ball in a variety of way. He’s got post moves on the block. He can step out, face the rim, make jump shots or drive the ball. I think he’s one of the best rebounders in the entire country.”

Kentucky now has two five-star players in their 2017 class and will look to add more in the next week.
