Patrick Towles say he's put everything into becoming UK's starting QB

A lot has changed for Patrick Towles since he first stepped foot in Lexington. The 6-foot-5 quarterback played in five games as a freshman, but his debut season was cut short by injury. As a sophomore, Towles was redshirted by then first-year head coach Mark Stoops. Heading into his third year with the UK program, the Ft. Thomas, Ky. native has transformed his game and his body, and he’ll look to take the starting role under center.

During Saturday’s Blue/White Spring Game, Towles got the start and completed 11-15 passes for 126 yards. He didn’t have a touchdown and threw the game’s only interception, but the redshirt sophomore impressed his teammates and coaches.

After the game, Towles talked about his performance, the QB race, and what’s changed since his freshman season.
