Kentucky freshman center Nick Richards has been named to the preseason watch list for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, which recognizes the top center in the country. Richards is one of 20 players selected to the watch list.

Richards was a five-star prospect in high school. He was Mr. New Jersey Basketball in 2017 and played in the McDonald’s All American Game, the Jordan Brand Classic, Nike Hoop Summit and the Elite 24.

Richards is the fourth Wildcat to be named to a preseason watch list. Hamidou Diallo was named to the watch list for the Jerry West Award, Kevin Knox was named to the watch list for the Julius Erving Award and PJ Washington was named to the watch list for the Karl Malone award.
