Nate Willis Commitment Gives UK's Recruiting Class A Bump

The Kentucky football staff picked up another commitment this morning in the form of junior college defensive back Nate Willis, a former South Florida and Central Florida commit. Willis is rated as a three-star prospect and held offers from BCS programs like Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and West Virginia. After committing to the Cats, Willis told Justin Rowland from that he wants to be “one and done” at Kentucky.

Whether Willis has that sort of impact remains to be seen, but his commitment did make an immediate impact on UK’s recruiting rankings. In the latest version of’s team rankings, the Cats find themselves at #37, ahead of BCS bowl teams Oregon, Stanford, Louisville, Kansas State, Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. However, Kentucky is 13th in the SEC, ahead of only Arkansas. But, hey, you have to start somewhere, right?
