Murray leads Canada to the semifinals of the Pan Am Games

TORONTO — For the third time in as many games, Kentucky point guard recruit Jamal Murray dazzled off the bench to lead Team Canada to another victory at the Pan American Games.

The 18-year-old Canadian played a team high 25:18 on Thursday evening, finishing with 14 points on 6-9 shooting to lead his home country to a 96-76 rout of Mexico. Murray also added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals as Canada finished the preliminary round a perfect 3-0 and champions of its group.

The five-star prospect is averaging 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists through the three games of preliminary play while also shooting an efficient 17-31 from the field (54.8%)

Next up for Murray and Canada will be a matchup with the United States on Friday in the tournament semifinals. The game tips off at 6:00 p.m. ET on WatchESPN.
