McKees to Victory against Southern Miss

09/01/2017 04:45 PM

The Kentucky Wildcats are looking for revenge tomorrow as they face Southern Miss on the road.

Southern Miss left Lexington with a win last season, beating the Wildcats 44-35 in the 2016 season opener. The rest of the season was up and down for Southern Miss. A win over Louisiana Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl gave them seven wins on the season.

The Golden Eagles have an unproven quarterback in sophomore Keon Howard, but they have proven weapons at running back and wide receiver. Senior running back Ito Smith rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown last season against the Cats. He finished the year with over 1,400 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns and is the only active running back with 3,000 career rushing yards and 1,000 career passing yards.

Senior wide receiver Allenzae Staggers averaged over 19 yards per receptions last season and had two games where he had over 200 yards receiving. He finished the 2016 campaign with 63 catches for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns.

How can the Cats make sure to come away with a victory tomorrow? Bradley McKee lets us know with his “McKees to Victory.”

Kickoff from Hattiesburg is at 4 p.m. ET. You can catch the game on the CBS Sports Network.
