INDIANAPOLIS, IN — After spending last season in the Development League, former Wildcat Marquis Teague received a chance to audition back into the NBA.
The 6-foot-2 point guard worked out for the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday — a team that has also looked at several other former Wildcats to possibly add with the No. 11 and No. 42 picks in next week’s NBA Draft.
After the Chicago Bulls selected him in the first round in 2012, Teague has bounced back and fourth between D-League and NBA teams, most recently averaging 14.9 points and 5.6 assists for the Oklahoma City Blue last season.
If Teague makes Indiana’s roster, it will be his third NBA team in just four seasons.
After spending his rookie year in the Bulls organization, Chicago traded Teague to the Brooklyn Nets in January 2014 where he played in final 21 games of the regular season.
Just a few months later, Teague was traded again to Philadelphia before the beginning of the 2014-15 season, only to be cut before the 76ers first game.
KSTV discussed Teague’s attempted return to the NBA on Wednesday’s show, breaking down the skills he must showcase in order to make Indiana’s roster.
