Welcome home Kentucky basketball. In its first home game in nearly a month, No. 6 Kentucky dominated Texas A&M 100-58.
The Aggies hit a three to open the game and take a 3-0 lead, but that was the only lead they would have. UK would score the next 15 points and never look back.
It was Malik Monk who once again led the way for Kentucky. The superstar freshman scored 26 points on 8-11 shooting, including 5-7 from the three-point line. Three other Wildcats scored in double-figures. De’Aaron Fox had 15 points, Isaiah Briscoe had 13 points and Bam Adebayo had 10 points.
As a team, the Wildcats shot 52% from both the field and beyond the arc. Kentucky forced Texas A&M to commit 25 turnovers and scored 35 points off those turnovers. Sophomore big man Tyler Davis finished the game with 13 points and only two rebounds. Kentucky edged Texas A&M on the boards 30-28.
The Wildcats improve to 12-2 on the season and 2-0 in the SEC. Kentucky’s next opponent is Arkansas, who they play Saturday night at 8:30 back here at Rupp Arena.
