Malik Monk is headed to Charlotte. The Lepanto, Arkansas native was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. Monk is joining former Kentucky player Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in Charlotte.

Monk was one of the most electric scorers in college basketball this past season. He averaged 19.8 points per game, second among all freshmen. He scored 20 points or more in 18 games and scored a freshman record 47 points against North Carolina in December. He was a consensus second-team All-American.

Charlotte finished 11th in the East last season with a 36-46 record. They recently acquired center Dwight Howard in hopes of making a playoff run next season.
