Mac Jones flips commitment, headed to Alabama

Four-star QB Mac Jones has decommitted from the University of Kentucky. The Florida native took to his twitter account tonight to announce his decision to play for Nick Saban and the University of Alabama. He tweeted, “I would like to thank the University of Kentucky for recruiting me, however, an opportunity of a lifetime has presented itself to my family and me. I am happy to say that I will continue my football and academic career at the University of Alabama. I am 100% committed, Roll Tide!”

Alabama offered Jones a scholarship in April and many experts believed that was a sign he would not be playing for the Wildcats. Jones ranks 165th overall in the latest Rivals class of 2017 rankings. He was expected to compete in the Elite 11 finals in July, however he did not make the final 12-man cut this past weekend. UK now has 10 commits in the class of 2017.
