Louisville Falls To Pitt, 21-14

Only one win away from bowl eligibility for the second consecutive season under head coach Charlie Strong, the Louisville Cardinals didn’t look like the team that had won three straight games in the Big East when they dropped a home game to Pitt Saturday afternoon.

Both teams struggled to put points on the board and the Panthers held to a 7-0 lead at halftime. But after the break, Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri hit Mike Shanahan for a 17-yard touchdown, giving the Panthers a 14-0 lead. The two teams would trade touchdowns the remainder of the game with Victor Anderson running one in late in the third quarter and Teddy Bridgewater hitting Scott Radcliff with 12 seconds remaining in the game.

Louisville now sits at 5-5 on the season and 3-2 in the Big East. Stay tuned to cn|2 Sports all week to hear what Charlie Strong and his team are saying as they prepare for another shot at bowl eligibility in Storrs, Connecticut this weekend.
