Lavar Ball rips De'Aaron Fox: "You can't hear about him unless he puts my boy's name in his mouth"

Lavar Ball, the outspoken father of Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, continues to run his mouth over the growing rivalry between his son and former Kentucky guard De’Aaron Fox.

Fox and Ball, who both enter their rookie seasons with high expectations, were set to square off in the Las Vegas Summer League league last Monday, July 10. Hours before the matchup, the Lakers announced Ball would not play because of a groin injury. That opened up speculation that Ball sat out because he didn’t want to face off against Fox. The last time the two met, Fox scored 39 points to lead Kentucky to a 86-75 win over UCLA in the Sweet 16.

In an interview on Fox Sports Radio earlier this week, Lavar Ball was asked if his son was ducking De’Aaron Fox last week.

“Duck De’Aaron Fox? Have you heard about De’Aaron Fox? Hell nah. You can’t hear about him unless he puts my boy’s name in his mouth. He been doing all this stuff and ain’t nobody been talking about him,” said Ball. “So he and his dad gotta link themselves to us to be relevant. De’Aaron Fox had a whole season and the only thing they talk about is 39 points against Zo. You don’t put Zo in a sentence, nobody cares about him.”
