Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops announced today that the Cats will be without defensive tackle Regie Meant for the foreseeable future as he’s left the team to deal with personal matters.
Meant was expected to be a major contributor for Kentucky on a depleted defensive line after a breakthrough as a sophomore last season, when he recorded 31 tackles and 1 sack.
Stoops also announced that tight end Darryl Long, a three-star recruit in the class of 2014, has chosen to transfer in hopes of finding more playing time. Long appeared in ten games last season as a redshirt freshman.
