Over the course of the last four games, all of them Kentucky losses, head coach John Calipari continued to stress that his team was close to figuring things out and that good things could still be in store. On Saturday, in an 81-71 win over Alabama, the team finally started to put those things together.

In what might have been the most consistent effort of the season, the Wildcats dominated the Crimson Tide on the glass, winning the battle of the boards, 44-27. The Cats also got more efficient play from their two point guards as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Quade Green combined to hand out 8 assists and commit only 1 turnover. PJ Washington led the team in points with 15, while Green (12) Kevin Knox (13), Jarred Vanderbilt (11) and Nick Richards (10) also scored in double digits.

The win moves Kentucky to 7-7 in SEC play.
