12/04/2016 03:15 PM

Kentucky will head to Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Bowl on December 31 for their first bowl game since 2010. Kickoff is set for 11 am.

Kentuck (7-5) will face a very run-heavy Georgia Tech (8-4) team that is known for their triple-option threat on offense. The Yellow Jackets have the No. 10 rushing offense in the country, averaging 257.4 yards per game. Kentucky isn’t far behind them. The Wildcats are ranked No. 16 in the country in rushing offense with 241.3 yards per game.

Both teams will look to run wild. Georgia tech’s defense is allowing 174 rushing yards per game and Kentucky’s opponents have rushed for an average of 225 yards per game.

Kentucky is 7-11-1 against Georgia Tech. The two teams haven’t met since 1960.

Mark Stoops will speak with the media tomorrow about the team’s bowl selection. Tune into KSTV tomorrow night for an early look at the bowl game. See you in Jacksonville!
