Kentucky loses in final seconds to Ole Miss

Nothing has been easy for the Kentucky football team this season and Saturday’s game with Ole Miss again fit the script. After closing out the first half with a touchdown to take a 20-17 lead into the break, the Cats came out strong to start the second half and scored to give themselves a 10-point lead.

From there, though, the offense fizzled and an Ole Miss team that looked broken got back on track and took a 30-27 lead in the fourth quarter. An emphatic drive behind Benny Snell, who rushed for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns on the day, gave Kentucky a four-point lead with 2:14 left.

But Ole Miss drove down the field and freshman wide receiver D.K. Metcalf caught a 7-yard touchdown with five seconds left to give the Rebels the win.

After the game, UK running back Benny Snell talked about bouncing back from this loss and not letting the emotions carry on into the rest of the season.

We’ll have a full recap on KSTV Monday.
