UK FOOTBALL | Three bold predictions for the 2015 season

LEXINGTON — The University of Kentucky football team kicks off the 2015 season just two weeks from tomorrow against LA-Lafayette under the bright lights of a brand new Commonwealth Stadium.
Most of Big Blue Nation would call the year a success if UK makes its first bowl game in five years, but quarterback Patrick Towles wants much more.
Fresh off officially winning the Wildcats’ starting quarterback job, the redshirt junior signal caller joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Thursday and claimed Kentucky has both the confidence and the talent to make it all the way to the SEC Championship game in Atalanta at the end of the season.
“I think we can get to Atlanta,” Towles said, “and I can say that with as much confidence as I’ve got.
“We’ve got the pieces in place; we’ve got the coaches; and we’ve got the guys. I’m confident in my receivers, my offensive line, and my defense. We’ve got leaders all around, and I have not doubt in my mind that we have the talent to get to Atlanta.”
Here’s Towles entire conversation on “The Paul Finebaum Show”:
That’s a pretty bold statement from Towles, considering that Kentucky Football has won just two conference crowns since joining the SEC all the way back in 1932, with the last league title coming nearly 40 years ago in 1976.
But to keep the good vibes rolling, KSTV added its own three “Bold Predictions” for the UK in 2015:
1. Kentucky will win the SEC East. (Bradley)
2. At least one Wildcat will win a national award at the end of the season. (Mark)
3. Patrick Towles will finish the year as an All-SEC quarterback. (TJ)
