LEXINGTON — Patrick Towles, Boom Williams, and Josh Forrest are some of the names that make most of the headlines for the University of Kentucky Football team.

But the Wildcats praised two of their lesser-known teammates last night when UK warded walk-on players Joey Herrick and Cole Mosier with athletic scholarships.

Herrick is a senior wide receiver, Mosier a sophomore guard, and Kentucky coaches D.J. Eliot and Chad Scott took to Twitter to congratulate both players for their new scholarship awards:

Fellow Kentucky teammates also praised the now former walk-ons online, including starting quarterback Patrick Towles:

Our proud as their coaches and teammates are of their achievement, Herrick’s and Mosier’s parents might be the happiest now that both players have their tuition covered.
