Kentucky closes out regular season with win at Texas A&M

Another day, another slow start for the Kentucky Wildcats. For the third straight game, UK fell behind early and struggled to get anything going offensively.
But the Wildcats didn’t fold. They stuck together and came back to beat Texas A&M 71 to 63.
Kentucky fell behind 19-4 early in the first half, before using a 28-9 run to go into the break with a 32-28 lead. Dominique Hawkins was the catalyst for the team in the first half. The senior finished the game with eight points and three assists, all coming in the first half.
De’Aaron Fox turned on the jets in the second half. He scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half. Bam Adebayo finished the day with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Derek Willis had another big game, going for 11 points and six rebounds.
Malik Monk scored only six points (2-10 FG) but made an impact in other ways. Monk had five rebounds and three assists. This is his first game of the season not scoring in double-figures.
Kentucky ends the regular season with eight straight wins and an overall record of 26-5 (16-2). The Wildcats clinch the regular season title and will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s SEC tournament in Nashville. Kentucky will play its first game at noon on Friday, March 10.
