De’Aaron Fox scored 39 points as Kentucky beat UCLA 86-75 to advance to the Elite Eight. This is the Wildcat’s third trip to the Elite Eight in the last four seasons.

Fox hit a jumper right before the end of the first half to give Kentucky a 36-33 lead at the break. Kentucky would end up leading the rest of the game, never allowing UCLA to establish themselves offensively.

Kentucky’s defense was a big reason why they came out on top. UCLA committed 13 turnovers, with Kentucky scoring 14 points off of those turnovers. Kentucky committed just six turnovers.

On top of De’Aaron Fox’s historic performance, Malik Monk added 21 points on 8-17 FG (4-8 3P). The backcourt carried the Wildcats, as Bam Adebayo only had two points and four rebounds in 37 minutes of action.

The Wildcats also beat UCLA from the three-point line. Kentucky made 10-23 three-point shots, while UCLA made 9-23.

Kentucky will meet the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday for the opportunity to go the Final Four in Phoenix, Arizona next weekend.
