Kentucky beats Kansas, advances to Regional Final

After jumping out to an 8-0 lead through five and a half innings, the UK baseball team made things interesting but held on for a 8-6 win over Kansas.
The Cats scored early and often, with two runs in the first, another in the second and four in the fourth. The team’s eighth run came in the top of the sixth, and then the Jayhawks’ bats came alive as well.
A five-run sixth inning put a huge dent in the lead and a solo homer in the eighth made things even tighter, but UK’s Spencer Jack shut it down in the final frame and gave his team the win.
The Cats now advance to the Regional Final, where they’ll play the rival Louisville Cardinals. If UK wins, the team’s will play again Monday. If the Cards are victorious, they’ll advance to Super Regionals.
