UK freshman Karl-Anthony Towns will suit up for the Dominican Republic’s national team tonight when they take on Team USA at Madison Square Garden, but that’s where his international run will end this year.

According to the official Twitter account of the Dominican National Basketball Team, Towns has been told by UK officials that he will not be available to play in the World Cup next month in Spain. However, sources confirm to KSTV that Towns will still play in tonight’s televised scrimmage.

During UK’s run through the Bahamas last week, Towns was second on the team in both scoring and rebounding with 11 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

The Dominican team will face Team USA tonight at 7pm on NBATV.
